Our Fairy Tale season ends soon!

Sinfonietta Nova concludes its 2013–14 Fairy Tale concert series with an entertaining program featuring Scheherazade, the epic musical retelling of the Arabian Nights. Former WWFM personality Bliss Michelson will “re-tell” the story before the performance of this masterpiece of Rimsky Korsakov. The concert will open with the overture from Weber’s comic opera Abu Hassan, also inspired by a tale from the Arabian Nights. Bring your kids or grandkids!

Hansel and Gretel on March 8

Continuing with its Fairy Tale inspired season, Sinfonietta Nova is presenting Engelbert Humperdinck’s classic fairy tale opera Hansel and Gretel.

Based on the beloved story by the Brothers Grimm, this operatic adaptation tells the story of a brother and sister, their adventures in the haunted forest of Ilsenstein, and their encounters with an evil witch.

Featuring vocal soloists and a narrator, supported by full orchestra, this concert of Hansel and Gretel is sure to inspire the child in all of us!
