Tzuriel Tong

TzurielTong400[1]Tzuriel Tong is a sophomore at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South. Recently, he was first prize winner of the CJMEA Concerto Competition, and was the featured soloist in the CJMEA High School Orchestra Concert. In 2010, he was awarded second place in the Crescendo International Competition for Strings for his age group, and received the opportunity to perform in Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall. In 2009, he was awarded first place in the NJMTA Young Musicians Competition for Strings, and in the prior year, he was placed third in the same competition. Additionally, he was selected to participate in cello Master Classes conducted by Steven Isserlis and Peter Wiley.

Tzuriel has been the principal cellist in the CJMEA High School Orchestra for the past two years, and was selected as a member in the All-State High School Orchestra by the NJMEA. He is also an active participant in the WWPHS Orchestra, and plays the cello at his church.

In his spare time, Tzuriel enjoys singing, composing and producing pop music in his home recording studio.
