The outdoor concert will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Nassau Park Pavilion (between Target and Panera Bread) from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
Joseph Hsia is a 5th grade student at Village Elementary School in West Windsor. He is the concertmaster of the Village Chamber Orchestra. His accolades include the first place winner in the NJMTA Young Musicians Competition, American Fine Arts Festival, Gala Concert, Golden Strings of America, and Young Classical Virtuosos of Tomorrow. He was also the winner of the String Scholarship at Westminster Conservatory.
Joseph has performed at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall; the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia; Voorhees Chapel at Rutgers University; Dicapo Opera Theatre Concert Hall; Bristol Chapel at Westminster Conservatory; the Liszt School of Music at Weimar, Germany; the University of Music in Wurzburg, Germany; and Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris. At age 8, Joseph performed as a soloist with Westminster Orchestra as the first place winner of its concerto competition at Richardson Hall at Princeton. He has participated in the masterclass with Ms. Sheryl Staples, associate concertmaster of New York Philharmonic.
In addition to music, Joseph enjoys reading, science and invention, and studying Greek philosophers and mathematicians. He also loves sports and plays at West Windsor Little League baseball team.
On June 23rd, Joseph is invited to solo with Sinfonietta Nova as part of the West Windsor Arts Council 2012 Summer Music Series. On August 26, he will solo with Ocean City POPS Orchestra at Ocean City, NJ.
