Robin Park, 17, began learning the cello at the age of 6, and currently studies with Priscilla Lee, Associate Principal Cellist of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
Robin has won many competitions in the past several years, including the Sinfonietta Nova Concerto Competition, Newtown Chamber Orchestra Competition, and the 2018 Caprio Young Artists Competition. He has also performed as a soloist with many orchestras, including the Sinfonietta Nova, Newtown Chamber Orchestra, and the Riverside Symphonia among many others. He was selected as an Honorable Mention Winner of the National YoungArts Foundation Competition in 2016 and 2017, and was invited to participate in the YoungArts New York Regional Program in 2018. Recently, he was selected as a winner of NPR’s From the Top Philadelphia Live Audition.
Robin is an avid chamber musician, having been a part of the Myer Schwartz Piano Trio and the Braverman String Quartet as an Advanced Study Scholarship student of the Settlement Music School since 2016. During the summers of 2015 and 2016, he participated in the Boston University Tanglewood Institute String Quartet Workshop under the tutelage of the Muir String Quartet. In 2017, he was invited to participate in the Fellowship Program of Dali Quartet International Music Festival.
Robin has served as the Assistant Principal Cellist of the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, and currently plays as a substitute cellist for Symphony in C. He was the Principal Cellist of the New Jersey All-State High School Orchestra for three consecutive years from 2016 to 2018, and was also the Assistant Principal Cellist of the NAfME All-National Honors Orchestra in 2017. Robin also participated in the 2017 New York String Orchestra Seminar under the baton of Jaime Laredo. In the summer of 2018, Robin toured Asia as a member of the National Youth Orchestra of the USA, alongside conductor Michael Tilson Thomas and pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet.
Robin was accepted as part of Princeton University’s Class of 2023.
