Violinist Jimmy Chih-Chang Hsueh is one of the most respected classical violinists working in Asia today. He currently serves as concertmaster of the Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra, and leads – alongside violinist Nai-Yuan Hu – the Taiwan Connection Festival, a self-governing chamber orchestra that performs without a conductor.
Prior to these positions, he served as concertmaster of the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, associate concertmaster of the Macau Orchestra, principal second violinist of the Landestheater Detmold, and a first violinist with the Klassische Philharmoni in Bonn. He has also been engaged as a guest concertmaster with several other major orchestras in Taiwan.
As a soloist, Hsueh has appeared with countless orchestras throughout Europe and Asia, and he is an avid chamber musician.
Hsueh completed his musical studies at the Hochschule für Musick Detmold in Germany, obtaining an Artist Diploma with highest honors.
