Mezzo-soprano Heather Jones is thrilled to return to Sinfonietta Nova after singing the role of Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel in 2014. Since then, credits include: Mannes Opera’s Cosi fan tutte (Dorabella) and Dido and Aeneas (Dido), Seagle Music Colony’s The Most Happy Fella (Cleo) dell’Arte Opera Ensemble’s Le nozze di Figaro (Cherubino), Princeton Opera Alliance’s Idomeneo (Idamante) and Faust (Siebel), and Opera Forza’s Madama Butterfly (Suzuki). Later this season, Heather will join Light Opera of New York to sing the role of Théodorine in Offenbach’s The Island of Tulipatan, which will be recorded and produced by Albany Records, and will serve as the first and only English recording of the work. This summer, Heather will be an Apprentice Artist with Opera Saratoga, where she will sing the role of Sister Mister in Mark Blitzstein’s The Cradle Will Rock. The performance will feature the composer’s original orchestration for the first time since 1960.
Heather is a native of Charleston, SC. She received a B.M. in music education from Westminster Choir College and is currently pursuing a M.M. in voice performance at Mannes College in NYC, where she is a student of Bill Burden.
