Brenden Zak, violinist, 16, began playing the violin at age 4 and has studied with Hirono Oka for the past five years. He is a Starling Violin Scholarship recipient in the Temple Music Prep Youth Chamber Orchestra and a Scholarship recipient in the Advanced Study Program at Settlement Music School.
Brenden has soloed with Ocean City Pops, Ambler Symphony and The Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey. He was a member of the Temple Music Prep Honors Quartet featured on NPR’s From the Top radio program in 2012. The past two summers Brenden has attended the Luzerne Music Festival where he has worked with composers John Corigliano and Richard Danielpour on their compositions Stomp and As Night Falls of Barjeantane, respectively.
Brenden is home-schooled, enjoys playing soccer, and gaming on the computer with his friends, is teaching himself piano and composes. You can hear more of his music at www.youtube.com/cawitches
